Summer 3S Enrichment Program

Overview

The WIN-NextGen™ Summer 3S Enrichment Program provides WIN-NextGen™ members with transformative summer experiences that build their skills, expand their networks, and fuel their career dreams in the 3S Workforce™ — STEM, Supply Chain, and Skilled Trades.

Through partnerships with two-year and four-year academic institutions, exchange programs, and workforce internship opportunities, WIN-NextGen™ offers scholarships to help members access high-quality summer programs and set a strong foundation for future success.

Whether attending an academic summer program, participating in a workforce exchange experience, or completing an internship in a skilled trade, participants gain valuable real-world insights, hands-on learning, and career exploration opportunities.

History

The WIN-NextGen™ Summer 3S Enrichment Program builds on the successful model created by the Girls Action Network® (GAN), which launched the original GAN Summer STEM Enrichment Program (SSEP) through formal partnerships with Smith College (2004), Mount Holyoke College (2005), and Wesleyan College (2010), along with New Jersey Institute of Technology. The GAN SSEP awarded scholarships to support members’ participation in rigorous summer programs focused on science, engineering, mathematics, and computer science. WIN-NextGen™ is focused on expanding this legacy by offering a broader range of enrichment opportunities across the entire 3S Workforce™, working with a variety of organizations, academic institutions, and employers to prepare the next generation for future careers.

Goal

The goal of the WIN-NextGen™ Summer 3S Enrichment Program is to empower members to explore and advance in 3S Workforce™ pathways by participating in innovative, experiential learning opportunities. The program promotes academic and technical excellence, global cultural understanding, leadership development, and workforce readiness — helping young people build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to thrive in a changing world in the AI era and beyond.

Program Components

Scholarships
WIN-NextGen™ awards scholarships based on merit to outstanding members demonstrating aptitude and interest in STEM, Supply Chain, or Skilled Trades. Scholarships support tuition, fees, and/or related costs for participation in approved summer academic programs, work-based internships, or exchange opportunities offered through WIN-NextGen™ partner.
MENTORSHIP
Participants may be paired with experienced mentors from WIN-NextGen’s dynamic network of professionals — including engineers, technologists, supply chain leaders, skilled trades experts, entrepreneurs, and military veterans — to receive personalized guidance, encouragement, and career advice throughout their summer experience.
CAREER NAVIGATION
WIN-NextGen™ integrates Future-Ready Career Exploration tools into the program. Members complete career assessments to help chart their educational and workforce roadmaps, gaining clarity on their interests, strengths, and the steps needed to launch a successful 3S Workforce™ career journey.
