Ready to explore the real world of supply chain? Internships and job shadowing can help you gain experience, meet industry pros, and build your resume!
Where to look for Supply Chain opportunities to gain exposure and experience:
Internships – For 2025, internships were predicted to be very competitive given current economic conditions. The same may hold true for 2026. One source is to visit our WIN-NextGen™ job board, which can be filtered on freelance, full-time, intern, part-time, and temporary opportunities. Become a Member to access the WIN-NextGen™ job board.
So, if you’re not having good luck with Job Boards for supply chain internships, I suggest you: (i) COMPANY SEARCH: Identify 20 Supply Chain companies and search their Sites; (2) CONTACT SEARCH: Search online for a contact at each of those 20 companies and introduce yourself to request a meeting and internship opportunity; and (3) BE FLEXIBLE: Some experience is better than no experience. Be open to 5-10 hours/week internships (UNPAID or PAID) to gain the experience, exposure and resume content.
Job Shadowing – Spend a day with a supply chain professional and see careers in action.
Online Programs – Some companies offer virtual supply chain training.
WIN-NextGen™ Pro Tip: Reach out to a mentor or career advisor to help you find opportunities.
