Responsibilities:
The Student Intern reports to the Head of Children’s Services.
This position may qualify for academic credit, with specifics to be arranged by the student, the Head of Children’s Services, and the manager of the school’s internship program or equivalent.
Providing quick and accurate reference and reader’s advisory services to the public
Assist with Library events, including outreach activities, under the supervision of Library staff
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in a School of Information/Library Science Master’s accredited
program
• Ability to work successfully with diverse patrons of all ages, ethnicities, and
backgrounds
• Positive attitude and approach to problem solving, customer service and public service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization and planning skills
• Maintains a prompt and reliable attendance record
